The Inaugural Season "Straw Hat Gala"

The Inaugural Season "Straw Hat Gala" at HPR on Saturday August 1st can only be deemed a huge success! Thousands of attendees were treated to an outlandishly perfect celebration. The day-long party and fund raiser will go down in HPR history as a most memorable, enjoyable, and significant day. Thanks to all who attended! For those of you who couldn't be there, you missed fabulous party! The weather was postcard perfect, in the low 80s with nary a cloud all day and only an occasional gentle breeze. Fantastic!

Please click here to go to a special edition HPR Photo Page with lots of pictures. If you took any neat pictures during the day, please send them to us and we'll try to post them. Send them to info@HighPlainsRaceway.com.

And a special thanks to all those who participated in the various auctions, exotic car rides, and fund raising opportunities. Those contributions will be well spent to further develop HPRs amenities.

The Governor Visits HPR

May 14th - Bill Howard and Gov. Bill Ritter perform an official ribbon cutting ceremony at HPR. That following weekend RMVR invades the track with 195 entries! Paddock space was very adequate and even more entrants could easily be accommodated. The track received high praise from racers, guests and spectators -- "Fantastic!" "A miracle!" and "We've now have a great Colorado track!" were common comments. Some even felt it was one the best, if not THE best, track in the country. (Additional pics on Photo Page.)

Help Make HPR Not Just A Great Track, But A Wonderful Facility

HIGH PLAINS RACEWAY will be the newest road racing motorsports facility in the Rocky Mountain area. The project has been developed by of the Colorado Amateur Motorsports Associates, LLC (CAMA). Thanks to funding from the participating clubs, all the wonderful Founding Contributors and Founding Sponsors, and participants in the lending program (largely racers and club members) construction was begun in August of 2008 and all paving completed in early October. HPR will be available for the 2009 racing season.

The HPR property is located approximately 60 miles east of Denver's I-25 and I-70 interchange. Visit the Track Details page for exact location and directions. It's a mere 60 minutes from about any place in the Denver metro area.

If you have a business which could take advantage of track advertising possibilities, please visit our Contact Us page and we will be delighted to help you with a program.

Please check out all the other areas of this website for further details on this exciting project. At 2.5 miles in length with 15 turns and several significant elevation changes, High Plains Raceway will be one of the nation's great tracks. CAMA, and the respective clubs and their members, are extremely excited about the realization of this new facility.
